First off, think about what you and the other person would like, most people on their first date would like to meet the other person and figure out if they are the least bit compatible. Compatibility is important; most people like to talk to one another.

One of the best places to go on a first date is just someplace quiet and comfortable just to talk. You don’t need any fancy dinners or exotic locations, a nice, comfortable café is a great idea or just a restaurant that has some background chatter or some music is also good. Make sure you find a place where you don’t have to yell or scream to talk to the other person. A dark place is not good either. You wouldn’t want to meet a new person in a closet, why take them somewhere where you can only see them in black light.

If you are not a talker, but would like to spend time with a person, figure out a good activity to spend your time with the other person, it might be rollerblading, bowling, billiards etc. This way if you are not a talker, you can always turn your attention to the action going on.
